A good education is critical to anyone's individual success and critical to the success of our communities.
While the programs we support may shift over time, our giving and partnerships are always rooted in core values.
We believe that underserved groups deserve our trust and that quality education—in its many forms—allows all individuals to participate in society. When individuals thrive, so do communities.
The Charles W. & Patricia S. Bidwill Foundation has historically focused on young people and their educational needs, particularly improving access to quality education for students facing educational barriers.
As we grow, we continue to expand our giving to include continuing education, non-traditional pathways, and other programs that help individuals reach their full potential.
Since 2005, we’ve awarded over $4.5 million in grants.
The Bidwill Foundation's financial support is varied, and we frequently provide general operating support along with assistance for scholarships, special education programs, tutoring, character development initiatives, and other programs that align with our values.
All grants provided by the Foundation have the common underlying mission of improving access to quality education for students who face educational barriers.
As a family foundation, we focus our support in the greater Chicagoland area—where our roots are—as well as Los Angeles and other select locations.
